BRAND AND PLACE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH ART, INTERPRETATION, SIGNAGE AND WAYFINDING
Public art is often used as a 'placemaking' tool, enlivening the public realm and giving it focus and identity. Art can also cost a packet and be hated by the public. We have both developed briefs for public art to be created and implemented by selected artists as well as designed our own installation artworks that respond to their context and the client’s aspirations.
But places do not always need or can justify ‘art’ as objects which you walk around and look at while scratching your head. Building functional aesthetic and creativity into an open space or public realm is what we do. This may be in the form of bespoke furniture or structures, signage and interpretation, graphics, planting, lighting or materials. In part or together these create more distinctive and informative places, promote discussion and being both interesting and practical.
