Allen Scott conceived the central floating towpath to take walkers and cyclists underneath the busy A12 dual carriageway as part of the Limehouse Cut Regeneration Programme. One of several interventions including bespoke gateways and tow path build-outs, it improves access as well as visual quality and identity to the canal and the surrounding areas. With feature lighting along its length and using concrete flotation to accommodate water level changes the boardwalk had to meet many regulatory requirements and won the London Cycling Campaign Award.
