Ness Park
The Ness Park project in Lowestoft, Suffolk, is a major regeneration initiative aimed at transforming the UK's most easterly park into a vibrant community space. This £1 million project, funded by the Coastal Community Fund, focuses on enhancing the park’s landscape and celebrating the area’s maritime heritage. It includes new play areas, picnic spaces and a bespoke bridge connecting to the sea wall. The park also features educational elements with interactive installations, along with the preservation of historic drying racks once used by the fishing industry.
As part of the North Lowestoft Heritage Action Zone, the park seeks to improve links between the town centre and its coastal features, making the area more accessible for cycling, walking and community events. With sensitive landscaping to protect local wildlife, the park is designed to boost tourism and community engagement while highlighting Lowestoft’s unique position as the UK's most easterly point.
