Multi-award winning project to re-think the high street. Re-routing traffic around either end the main retail street was opened out to shared surface use, the weekly market and a pleasant and calmer shopping environment. Feature gateways, an outdoor stage and intermediate 'mini-squares' at key pedestrian junctions linked the street to the river front, the shopping mall and the new mixed-use development acting as a catalyst for re-investment and other wider environmental improvement projects.
