A clean and simple but high quality refurbishment of one of Clacton's main thoroughfares which had become shabby and tired. The palette of materials was developed in close consultation with the highways department to ensure all components could withstand the coastal environment, heavy use, be readily maintained and have longevity. The central section of road was subject to new parking and car restrictions to enhance the pedestrian experience and to benefit the retail businesses.
