Allen Scott were commissioned by Thames Water to undertake this feasibility study to explore options for the re-building and restoring of this derelict water treatment works into a visitor attraction and marina centre. The main challenge was working around accessibility issues created by a division of ownership and public rights of way which was resolved with a waterside boardwalk and improved bridge access. Adjacent wetlands on the south side of the river were enhanced as a separate project to build on a natural visitor base of walkers and towpath users.
