Allen Scott worked closely for several years with London Wildlife Trust to develop the Outdoor Learning Centre based in 11 hectares of reed-fringed ponds and dykes, five minutes’ walk from the densely built up areas of Stoke Newington. The Centre and wider reserve is perfect for school trips, corporate and community volunteering providing a base for learning volunteers who run the formal and informal wildlife sessions for people of all ages. From the Centre, volunteers learn how to deliver successful environmental learning programmes and have the opportunity to shadow experienced staff until they become confident to lead sessions on their own paving the way for careers in the environmental education sector.
