A feasibility study to explore masterplan options for the re-use of disused gravel pits as a new recreation and wildlife based visitor destination. Working with Acorn Tourism on the demand and offer side, four options were developed and presented to the local authority economic development team. These focused on different themes, such as watersports, country park and marina facilities to enable the pros and cons of each to be carefully considered against the project's criteria for a balanced mix of profitable and public uses.
