Princes Park
Princes Park is a contemporary intervention within a traditional park, aimed at breathing new life into the seafront and attracting a more diverse range of visitors. The park was remodelled to provide a new entrance connected to the beach promenade, a ‘grand axis’ public space, enhanced park hub and lake, and refurbishment of the café building with lakeside terracing.
The enhancements were the result of an initial consultative Development Plan prepared by Allen Scott, which sought to raise the profile of the park, engage with the community and Friends Group and provide a strategy for obtaining Coastal Community Funding. Once the approach was agreed, we worked to a tight capital budget and future maintenance requirements to design and deliver the project through to successful completion.
