Manor Royal
Allen Scott have been working with Manor Royal Business District since its inception in 2013. Following an initial masterplanning process, we’ve helped deliver a series of successful public realm projects and continue to collaborate with the BID team on a number of innovative projects.
Our work has supported the BID and its partners in the investment of millions of pounds into public realm enhancements across the business district. We have created two new public open spaces, improved the key gateways and increased pedestrian and cycling accessibly. The public realm enhancements help with wayfinding and sense of place, and are a catalyst for transformational change. We are very proud of our involvement in helping shape the largest place to do business in the South East of England.
One of our current projects includes delivering a series of small ‘micro-parks’ across the business district that form part of the Arts and Heritage Trail, providing a network of improved facilities including seating and outdoor meeting spaces, whilst telling the story of Manor Royal, its history and the people who have made it what it is today.
Each park is unique and designed to suit the location, potential use and the feedback received by the local stakeholders. The materials and furnishing used are consistent with a wider furniture strategy we prepared for Manor Royal. We are working with a number of public artists to integrate and include place-specific public art sculptures in each of the micro-parks.
