Allen Scott were commissioned by Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) to prepare a spatial framework for an enhanced leisure and recreation hub within the listed park. The project included working closely with MBC to prepare and assess scenarios for locating a new adventure zone (high ropes climbing equipment), visitors’ centre / café, enhanced play facilities, skatepark and additional car parking.

The spatial framework included extensive analysis of the site and the community needs; research and development into other successful commercial operations; establishing design principles; exploring scenarios and presenting these to MBC for consideration. Allen Scott helped secure planning permission for the new adventure zone / commercial operation within this listed heritage park. Following adoption of the spatial framework and securing the planning permission, Allen Scott have been helping develop the design and are now involved in the design and build construction phases of this £4.2 project.
